What is a "Skype on Vodafone" compatible handset?
A "Skype on Vodafone" compatible handset is a mobile phone that is compatible with the "Skype on Vodafone" application software.
Some handsets come preloaded with the "Skype on Vodafone" application; others are compatible but require you to download the application via the Vodafone Central portal.

What if my handset is not listed as compatible with the "Skype on Vodafone" application software, can I still use Skype?
If your handset is not listed as "Skype on Vodafone" compatible you will not be able to use the "Skype on Vodafone" application. However, you may still be able to download and install other Skype mobile applications. Please be aware that the "Unlimited Skype-to-Skype calls" offer only applies to Skype-to-Skype calls using the "Skype on Vodafone" application. Standard data charges will apply if Skype is accessed via handset applications not supported by Vodafone. The "Skype on Vodafone" application software is not available on all mobiles.
Can I get the unlimited Calls Skype-to-Skype offer on my Apple® iPhone®?
The "Unlimited Skype-to-Skype" offer does not apply to iPhone®. The offer only applies to Skype-to-Skype calls using the "Skype on Vodafone" application. The iPhone® is currently not compatible with the "Skype on Vodafone" application software. However, there is a 3G/WiFi Skype application available for the iPhone®. Standard data charges will apply if Skype is accessed via the Skype 3G/WiFi application for iPhone®.
How do I download & install the "Skype on Vodafone" application?
Installing the "Skype on Vodafone" application on your mobile:
1. Free TXT "Skype" to 12 66 12 from your compatible mobile.
2. Click the link in the return TXT and you'll be directed to Vodafone Central.
3. Navigate to the Skype product page on Vodafone Central.
4. Follow the instructions on the page to download the "Skype on Vodafone" application.
5. Once download is complete, locate the application in either your Downloads or Applications folder.
6. Click on the "Skype on Vodafone" application to start. You will be asked to enter your Skype name to proceed.
7. If you already use Skype on your PC, this will be the same account name and password.
8. Click 'I have an account' and enter your Skype Name, Password and whether you want to be signed in manually or automatically when the "Skype on Vodafone" application starts. Then click Sign In
9. If you don't already have a Skype account, you can set one up on your mobile.
10. Click 'Create Account' and read through the terms & conditions before clicking 'Accept'.
11. Choose a Skype name for yourself. This will be your Skype username that all your contacts will use to identify you.
12. Select a password (must be more than 4 characters).
13. Repeat password.
14. Enter your email address (in case you forget your password).
15. When finished, select 'Done' and your account will be created.
If you would prefer to setup your Skype account on your PC first, simply go to www.skype.com.au
You will be able to use the same Skype name and account details on both your PC and Mobile.
What is a Skype-to-Skype call?
A Skype-to-Skype call is a voice call made from one Skype user to another Skype user. This includes calls made from a Skype application on mobile to a Skype application on a PC or Mac.
Skype-to-Skype does not include voice calls from normal landline or mobile numbers to Skype (SkypeIn), nor does it include calls made from Skype to normal landline or mobile numbers (SkypeOut).
I don't have a Skype account, how can I get one?
If you don't already have a Skype account you can set one up on either your mobile or PC.
To setup a Skype account on your mobile:
1. Click on the the "Skype on Vodafone" application to start. You will be asked to enter your Skype name to proceed.
2. Click 'Create Account' and read through the terms & conditions before clicking 'Accept'.
3. Choose a Skype name for yourself. This will be your Skype username that all your contacts will use to identify you.
4. Select a password (must be more than 4 characters).
5. Repeat password.
6. Enter your email address (in case you forget your password).
7. When finished, select 'Done' and your account will be created.
If you would prefer to setup your Skype account on your Mac or PC, simply go to www.skype.com.
You will be able to use the same Skype name and password on both your PC and mobile.
If you forget your password, you can go to www.skype.com and reset it.
What is the difference between the "Skype on Vodafone" application and other Skype mobile applications?
The "Skype on Vodafone" application uses software supported by Vodafone. Other Skype applications are available with certain handsets, or via internet download. The main difference is the functionality, look and feel of the applications vs. Vodafone's application.
If you are using a Skype application that is not the "Skype on Vodafone" application, you will not be able to take advantage of the unlimited Skype-to-Skype calls offer.
